Located in West Africa, the Tibisu-Boaké Highway Project Camp in Côte d’Ivoire covers a total area of approximately 55,600 square meters. This large-scale infrastructure project required a high-standard living and working environment for hundreds of construction personnel. Chengdong Camp undertook the planning, supply, and installation of the office and living buildings—demonstrating its global expertise in camp construction for complex international engineering projects.
The overall camp design integrates office, living, and production functions to support daily operations and staff welfare. The site is divided into eight major areas:
Work and office areas
Living and accommodation areas
Catering areas
Entertainment and recreation zones
Oil storage and equipment maintenance areas
Material warehouse area
Central testing laboratory area
General production area
The building footprint covers about 4,200 square meters, with each zone carefully planned for efficiency and comfort:
Production area: 1,210 m²
Office area: 1,264 m²
Living, dining, and entertainment area: 1,726 m²
This balanced distribution ensures seamless operation while providing employees with a well-organized and convenient work-life environment—an essential goal in high-quality camp construction.
The camp’s landscaping design emphasizes both aesthetics and sustainability. Rows of Ligustrum Jinsen green plants line both sides of the main hardened road, while grass seeds are strategically planted to add natural greenery and prevent soil erosion. By integrating green vegetation and utilizing rainwater efficiently, Chengdong’s camp construction approach enhances environmental sustainability and creates a more comfortable living atmosphere for the entire workforce.
In the planning phase, Chengdong tailored flexible hardening widths and road construction methods according to different traffic and functional needs across the production, accommodation, and office areas.
Fire safety was prioritized throughout the camp. Fire extinguishers were installed in all critical locations—including office buildings, dormitories, kitchens, restaurants, laboratories, and warehouses—while fire-fighting sand pits were established near warehouses, oil depots, and laboratories. Strict fire-prevention policies, safety signage, and prohibition of open flames ensured compliance with international standards of camp construction safety.
Both domestic and construction waste are classified and processed within the camp. Domestic waste from accommodation and office areas, as well as debris from the production zone, are handled through organized collection and disposal systems. This sustainable waste-management practice aligns with Chengdong’s commitment to environmentally responsible camp construction.
The camp’s perimeter wall stands three meters high, painted in blue and white to match the corporate color scheme and maintain visual harmony. The project’s Road and Bridge LOGO is displayed on each column, reinforcing the professional image of the site. A single-sided, eight-meter-wide iron gate was installed at the entrance, combining durability and safety with a clean architectural aesthetic—an example of Chengdong’s attention to both form and function in modern camp construction.
From the planning and design stage to final installation, Chengdong provided a complete camp construction solution, ensuring that each component met the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality. The project in Côte d’Ivoire not only supported the success of the highway construction but also set a benchmark for efficient, sustainable, and well-managed engineering camps in Africa.
The Tibisu-Boaké Highway Project Camp exemplifies Chengdong’s ability to deliver large-scale, fully functional, and environmentally responsible camp construction projects. With years of experience in designing and building camps for infrastructure, mining, and energy projects worldwide, Chengdong continues to provide integrated housing and camp solutions that empower builders and improve living conditions across global job sites.
