Project Features:

1. Integrated Camp Facilities for Long-Cycle Road Construction

Located in Dushanzi, the camp was developed as a central operational base for a Duku Highway construction section in Xinjiang. Designed to support an extended construction cycle, the integrated engineering camp combines project administration, employee dormitories, a cafeteria, conference rooms, warehouse facilities, and shower and restroom areas within one coordinated layout.

2. 221 Wind-Resistant Containerized Modular Units

The project deployed 221 containerized cabins to create a functional modular house camp for workforce accommodation, office operations, welfare services, and logistics support. Each unit incorporates an enhanced wind-resistant design for wind loads of Force 10–12, helping the camp maintain stable operation in the exposed weather conditions of Northern Xinjiang.

3. Localized Supply, Installation and After-Sales Response

A local Xinjiang factory coordinated production scheduling with the site’s construction progress, enabling timely supply of modular units and helping avoid labor standby or work interruptions associated with delayed camp facilities. CDPH’s in-house installation team provided on-site assembly support, while localized after-sales service ensured rapid response to operational requirements throughout camp use.

Project Description

Located in Dushanzi, Xinjiang, this modular engineering camp was developed as a core operational base for a Duku Highway construction section. Designed for long-cycle infrastructure works, the camp integrates project administration, employee accommodation, dining, meetings, warehousing, and sanitation facilities within one coordinated site.

Challenge: Long-Term Operation in High-Wind Conditions

Duku Highway construction requires reliable workforce accommodation and support facilities that can remain operational throughout an extended construction period. In Northern Xinjiang, exposed locations and variable weather conditions place additional requirements on structural stability, project coordination, and delivery continuity.

The camp solution needed to support continuous site operations while providing:

  • Integrated accommodation, administration, dining, sanitation, and storage functions

  • A scalable layout suited to changing construction-stage requirements

  • Wind-resistant modular buildings for Northern Xinjiang conditions

  • On-site installation and responsive after-sales support

  • Production and delivery coordination aligned with the construction schedule

Solution: 221 Containerized Modular Units

A total of 221 containerized modular units were deployed in Dushanzi to create an organized engineering camp for the Duku Highway construction section. The camp includes separate but connected zones for employee dormitories, project offices, a cafeteria, conference rooms, warehouses, and shower and restroom facilities.

The modular house system incorporates an enhanced wind-resistant design for wind loads of Force 10–12. This configuration supports stable camp operation in exposed northern environments while giving the project team a practical, repeatable building solution for accommodation and site-support functions.

The modular layout also allows key functions to be organized around daily site workflows. Accommodation, administration, welfare, and logistics facilities are integrated into one operational base, helping reduce coordination complexity for a long-duration construction project.

Production, Installation and Local Support

A local factory in Xinjiang coordinated production scheduling with the project’s construction sequence. This localized supply arrangement helped ensure that modular units were available in line with site progress, reducing the potential for idle labor or work interruptions caused by delayed camp facilities.

An in-house installation team provided on-site assembly support and coordinated installation activities with the construction program. Localized after-sales service enabled rapid response to operational requirements after the camp entered service.

For infrastructure projects with demanding schedules, the combination of regional manufacturing, modular delivery, field installation, and local support creates a more controllable route from camp planning to occupancy.

Why Modular Houses Fit Engineering Camps

A modular house solution is well suited to road, railway, hydropower, mining, and other remote infrastructure projects. Factory-produced modules can be configured into practical workforce accommodation and support facilities, including dormitories, offices, dining halls, washrooms, warehouses, and meeting spaces.

Compared with fragmented temporary structures, an integrated modular system helps project teams organize essential functions within one camp plan. For long-cycle construction programs, it can also support phased expansion, relocation, refurbishment, and reuse as project requirements change.
