Project Background
Chengdong successfully delivered the Xinjiang Dashixia Dam Project Department Living and Office Camp, covering a planned area of 33,500 m² and a building area of 11,000 m². The camp serves as offices and living quarters for department management personnel, with a designed service life of 10 years and wind resistance up to level 11.
The camp was designed for a seven-year construction period in a harsh environment. To improve the living and office environment of staff, Chengdong adopted a light steel structure housing plus decoration plan, balancing:
Fast construction progress
Excellent office and living comfort
Cost efficiency
Office Building:
Constructed as a landmark light steel villa, reflecting the project company's overall strength.
Offers comfort comparable to brick-concrete houses with a 50-year design service life, while providing better earthquake resistance, environmental protection, and construction efficiency.
Laboratories and Canteens:
Built using ZA and ZM room types, meeting functional needs while minimizing construction costs.
Guest House and Dormitories:
Adopt ZA + decoration room type.
Interior finished with light steel keel gypsum board, creating a warm, home-like environment instead of the cold metal feel typical of color steel houses.
Gymnasium:
1,500 m² indoor gymnasium using H-shaped steel structure, featuring basketball courts, badminton courts, and fitness equipment areas, enriching staff leisure activities.
The first batch of goods was delayed from February to April 9, 2020, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Staff shortages occurred because many laborers could not travel, but Chengdong personnel ensured timely site preparation and delivery.
Subsequent outbreaks in Beijing and Urumqi led to adjustments in delivery plans, minimizing project losses.
Despite the pandemic, the project was successfully completed and handed over to the client on schedule.
Chengdong’s approach demonstrates:
Rapid deployment of modular light steel and ZA/ZM rooms
Durable and safe structures suitable for harsh environments
Comfortable office and living conditions through decorated interiors
Versatile functional spaces including offices, dormitories, canteens, laboratories, and gymnasiums
Proactive project management ensuring completion despite unexpected challenges
The Xinjiang Dashixia Dam Project Camp highlights Chengdong’s expertise in modular housing, light steel villas, ZA/ZM rooms, and H-shaped steel structures, providing safe, cost-effective, and comfortable solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects.
